South West Trains have decided to refurbish their four carriage unit trains of type Class 455. During this process 23 trains will be equipped with DILAX automatic people couter. After that train companies in the UK will be operating 200 trains with a DILAX system.
Porterbrook Leasing Company Limited in the UK installs DILAX automated passenger counting systems in trains of type Class 458. The trains have four carriages with 16 doors each and are operated by South West Trains.
The public transport company in Lausanne “transport publics de la region lausannoise” (TL) plans to open a new metro line “m2” in 2008. DILAX Intelcom AG Switzerland has been selected as a turnkey supplier to equip all the stations of this trendsetting line with a people counting system. A DILAX software analyses the counted data and is subsequently able to support TL to optimise the metro’s cycle times as well as to redistribute all budgets.
The first train, among the 6 included, has been equipped with a passenger counting system, fully automatic and autonomous and is now operating. All 6 trains will be managed by an autonomous and fully automatic back office data management system within the third quarter of this year. The aim of the project is to save the expenses that are usually set aside for the manual counting and obviously to improve the quality of the offered service.
The company was found 1988 based on an idea which has its seeds in the liberalisation and privatisation of the telecommunication and transportation. 20 years later DILAX is established with its own subsidiaries and distribution companies in Europe and America. Nearly 60 employees are working worldwide on duty of our loyal customers and guarantee a high-quality passenger counter and people counter. We congratulate the founders and employees to their twenties anniversary.
